ワスレグサの種類
ワスレグサはキスゲ亜科の多年草。日本には古代、中国から渡来しました。7月から8月にかけて橙色の花を咲かせます。一重咲きがノカンゾウ（野萱草）、八重咲きがヤブカンゾウ（薮萱草）。名前が似ているワスレナグサはムラサキ科で、ワスレグサと無関係です。

ワスレグサの名前の由来は悩みが忘れられるという言い伝えのため。なぜ忘れられるのかというと、花が1日で終わる（忘れられる）から。または嫌なことを忘れるくらい、花が美しいから。さらに嫌なことを忘れるくらい、食べるとおいしいからです。
