セイヨウノコギリソウという名前の由来は葉の形がノコギリに似ているからです。鋸草の葉は硬く、西洋鋸草の葉は硬くありません。

セイヨウノコギリソウ
欧州原産でキク科ノコギリソウ属の多年草です。古くから薬草として止血や健胃に用いられ、わが国には明治20年に渡来。画像は園芸種の赤花西洋鋸草です。視力に優れる方は気付かれるかもしれませんが、ちょうど雨が降っていて、花びらの上の雨滴が、今にも踊り出しそう。
赤花西洋鋸草は英語名ならアキレアとかヤロウとか３～４文字ですが、漢字だと６文字になり、平仮名だと「あかばなせいようのこぎりそう」と14文字に激増。繰り返し唱えると「赤羽声優残り偽装」になります（←ウソです）。
鋸草という名称は葉の形状に由来していますが、葉を触ると、鋸とは程遠い柔らかさ。じつはノコギリソウとセイヨウノコギリソウで葉の硬さが違います。ノコギリソウの葉は硬く、セイヨウノコギリソウの葉は柔らかい。頬を擦るとくすぐったい、フワフワな感触。
最後に赤羽は素敵な街です（←本当に）。
Yarrow
It is a perennial plant of the genus Yarrow of the Asteraceae family, native to Europe. It has been used as a medicinal herb for hemostasis and stomachic since ancient times, and came to Japan in 1890. The image is a garden species of red flower yarrow. The name saw grass is derived from the shape of the leaves, but when you touch the leaves, the softness is far from that of a saw. In fact, the hardness of the leaves is different between Yarrow and Yarrow. The leaves of Achillea millefolium are hard, and the leaves of Achillea millefolium are soft. A fluffy feel that tickles when you rub your cheeks.
