ガクアジサイ
ガクアジサイはアジサイ科アジサイ属の落葉低木。日本に自生している植物です。
以前、ガクアジサイで２度驚いたことがあります。１度目は姿形がずいぶん違うのに、アジサイにとても近い植物だと知ったとき。２度目は、ガクアジサイの花のほうが複雑な造りに見えるのに、ヨーロッパでの品種改良でアジサイのほうが新しく作出されたと知ったとき。
ガクアジサイの花は中心の小さな花々（両性花）と周りの大きな花々（装飾花）からなります。この装飾花は萼が転化した器官で、これが花器全体を丸く覆うように改良されたのがアジサイ。
一方、この装飾花を額縁に見立てたのが「ガク」アジサイです。ややこしいですが、萼（がく）でなく、額（がく）のほう。葉はアジサイより厚く大きく、表面も濃緑色で光沢があります。
花言葉はアジサイが「移り気」「浮気」「高慢」と否定的であるのに対して、ガクアジサイは「謙虚」と肯定的。見た目が地味だからのようです。
なお、ガクアジサイの花色も土壌がアルカリ性だと赤くなり、酸性だと青くなります。これはアジサイと同じです。
Lacecap Hydrangea
Lacecap hydrangea is a deciduous shrub of the genus Hydrangea in the family Hydrangeaceae. It is a plant that grows naturally in Japan.
I was surprised twice by Lacecap Hydrangea before. The first time I learned that it is a plant that is very close to hydrangea, even though its shape is quite different. The second time, when I learned that Lacecap hydrangea flowers seemed to be more complicated, but hydrangea was newly produced by breeding in Europe.
The flower of Lacecap hydrangea consists of a small flower in the center (amphoteric flower) and a large flower around it (decorative flower). This decorative flower is an organ in which the calyx is converted, and it is hydrangea that has been improved so that it covers the entire vase.
On the other hand, “Gaku” hydrangea is likened to this decorative flower as a picture frame. It’s complicated, but the forehead is better than the calyx. The leaves are thicker and larger than hydrangea, and the surface is dark green and shiny.
The flower language is negative for hydrangea as “movement,” “flirtation,” and “pride,” while Lacecap hydrangea is positive for “humility.” It seems that it looks sober.
The flower color of Lacecap hydrangea also turns red when the soil is alkaline and blue when the soil is acidic. This is the same as hydrangea.
